By Pleasant View Luther Home Inc | Jan 30, 2014

OTTAWA, IL | JANUARY 30, 2014 – Pleasant View, a Lutheran Life Community, celebrated the opening of the new additions of both the Village Square and the new addition to Hearthstone Assisted Living on Sunday.

Residents, staff, family and community members gathered to dedicate and bless the new spaces at Pleasant View, which provide an additional 17 assisted living apartment residences, commons spaces and the Village Square area, featuring numerous amenities for residents, families and friends to use.

“We are gathered today to celebrate a new chapter in Pleasant View’s history. The additional spaces provide another opportunity to care for more individuals in the community, and we look forward to meeting the needs of the population for many years to come,” said CEO & President of Lutheran Life Communities, Roger W. Paulsberg, during the dedication ceremony.

The Village Square commons area has quickly become a popular spot for individuals to gather. The Bistro features made-to-order items, to-go options and ice cream, providing families, friends and residents another excellent culinary option. It is one of the most popular spots on the campus of Pleasant View, according to Executive Director of Pleasant View, Becky Cattani.

Other features of the Village Square include a gift shop, a workout gym, fully equipped with Nautilus equipment, a library, a multipurpose activity room, a new beauty shop and new office spaces.

The Village Square addition also features a rehabilitation gym that is four-times the size of the old rehabilitation space, giving Pleasant View the opportunity to provide high quality rehabilitation services to more individuals in the community.

Mayor Robert M. Eschbach, in his remarks during the ceremony, stated that “this is no longer your grandmother’s Pleasant View,” referring to the beautiful campus and state-of-the art changes that have occurred over the past several years.

Pleasant View is a full continuing care retirement community, featuring independent living villa homes, one and two bedroom assisted living residences and skilled nursing care. For more information on Pleasant View, visit www.pvottawa.org.
