Making our way West.... how to make a child's covered wagon

By Midwest Center for Christian Living | Aug 02, 2012
Photo by: Ann Harmon Bradyn and Haley really enjoyed using the covered wagon in dramatic play.

The Wild West was our most recent theme in our Pre-K class and to put the students more in the mood, we designed a covered wagon out of our little red wagon. Supplies needed to make your own covered wagon is as follows:

Three pool noodles

Doll Rods

Old single sheet

varies bolts

We first removed the sides off the red wagon leaving the front intact. We then placed the three pool noodles equal spaces away forming arches. My husband attached a doll rod thru the three noodles to keep them in place. We then bolted the noodles to the side of the wagon. Then we covered the noodles to form the cover the wagon. We used zip ties to put them in place.

It turned out cute and the students loved it .
