Illinois Valley Community College’s first “Super Saturday,” 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, will feature tours of the million dollar life and physical science labs, a chance to hear from current students, free pizza and basketball.

“The day will provide a fun, fast-paced introduction to IVCC for students of all ages and their parents,” said Fran Brolley, director of community relations and development. “We will give our guests a taste of what it’s like to be an IVCC student.”

            The day’s agenda includes:

  • Welcome and introduction with random prize give-aways at 2 p.m. in Room C316 with Director of Admissions Mark Grzybowski.
  • Tours of the new Life and Physical Science labs, Jacobs Library and D225 lecture hall.
  • Student panel and free pizza party in the cafeteria. Current students will discuss why they chose IVCC over going away, what impressed them about the college, what activities they participate in and what advice they can share about choosing a college.
  • Free admission (and popcorn) to the 4 p.m. IVCC men’s basketball game vs. Waubonsee in the IVCC Classic. Game breaks will feature the IVCC mascot Spirit, t-shirt cannon, and a Super Fan.

Grade and high school students and their parents are welcome as well as adults considering returning to college. For information, call Brolley at 815.224.0466. Please RSVP at www.ivcc.edu/forms/SuperSaturday.aspx
