Illinois Valley Community Colleges choir will hold fall semester community rehearsals from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays beginning Aug. 20 in Room B 223.

            The choir is open to everyone in the IVCC district who  wants to continue the fun they had in high school, college or church choir or who just love to sing.

            Director Norman Engstrom said, "I like to work with different types of music and in the fall term it is mostly related to the Christmas season. This year I plan on having the choir sing music from many different historical periods and feature a wide variety of musical styles.

            Participation is free or students can receive college credit. There will be no rehearsal on Labor Day, Sept. 3. For information, contact Engstrom at (815) 224-0279 or simply attend one of the first rehearsals. A concert will be performed in late November or early December.
