A Servant’s Heart Hosts 8th Annual Chili Cook Off
Ottawa, IL – Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Servant’s Heart will host its 6th Annual Chili Cook Off at the Zion Lutheran Church, 622 W. Jefferson, Ottawa, Illinois. The cost is $6 per person (Age 3 and under are free) and may be purchased at the door or in advance at A Servant’s Heart Resale Boutique located at the North Ottawa Plaza, Ottawa, Illinois or by calling John and Marion at 815.431.9757. Also, if you wish to enter your chili in the cook off you may do so by calling John and Marion at 815.431.9757 and reserving your spot by Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
A Servant’s Heart is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization which coordinates agencies, organizations, and church resources to help the homeless and needy of LaSalle County. A Servant’s Heart also fills gaps in “the system” to provide assistance not provided by other agencies. “The purpose and mission of A Servant’s Heart is to provide crisis intervention to homeless and/or needy of LaSalle County, with the guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
A Servant’s Heart also operates a “community kitchen” in Ottawa, Illinois, providing lunches five days a week from 12 N to 1 p.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church located at the corner of Leland and Illinois Streets in Ottawa .
The proceeds of the chili cook off will go to assist with the expenses of A Servant’s Heart and keeping the “community kitchen” operating. We invite and encourage all of you to come out on Saturday night the 26th and make it a family affair. Enjoy a variety of good chili as well as good fellowship.
