The Ottawa Moose Lodge 960 invites the public to the 5th Annual Ottawa Moose Miles, a 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, April 20th. All proceeds from this event will benefit the children of Mooseheart, a non-profit coeducational home and school for children in need, and the local Moose Lodge 960. Last year's race was a huge success with 300 registrants and over $7000 raised.

The run will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Moose Lodge at 3051 E. 18th Rd in Ottawa. The race course is a 3.1 mile route for runners and walkers that starts and finishes at the lodge. The course winds around the Dayton Township neighborhood and features two hills and a calming atmosphere. The path is paved with mile markers at each mile. Water will be available along the course.

There is a pre-registration fee of $20 until April 12th, after the 12th the fee will be $25. Each participant will receive a free t-shirt, while supplies last, and a pork chop lunch. The meal will be provided by the Moose Lodge following the race. Family and friends of participants are also welcome to join the post-race lunch for a discounted cost. The top three race finishers in each age group, the top overall male and female runners, and the top Moose member male and female runners will receive awards.

Applications are available at the Ottawa Moose Lodge, RE/MAX 1st Choice, or at the Ottawa & Peru YMCA. For more information or application, you may contact Diane Duggan by phone at 815-433-5524 or by email at kduggs@yahoo.com.
